Mage Item/Weapon: Spanner

Normally a trusty 13" adjustable wrench (fondly referred to as "Penelope"), when in mage form it expands to 5' with fluorescent side panels and an orb-like gem suspended at the end.

The weightier part of the wrench is used to whack things to great effect. The orange glow of the sides increases or decreases in intensity and is generally a reflection of his own state, or how much energy he's expended.

Magnets allow Kohl to clip the spanner to his back when he needs to be on the move.

Personality:

A friendly individual, Kohl enjoys meeting new faces and helping others. His manner is generally that of a cheery gentleman, not willing to offend or upset. He also seems amused by the fact that he becomes female in mage form and isn't too mindful of gender difference. When he speaks it is with a subtle confidence, making him appear quite comfortable in his own skin.

Generally he spends so much time smiling or saying things in jest that it can be difficult to know when to take him seriously due to his perpetually constant grinning face (or the odd dramatic jibe), no matter how good-natured he seems to be. He has his surprising moments of insight, but in general doesn't like to take life on humourlessly and will encourage others to do the same.

He has a good grasp on the basic workings of clocks and engines (although he can't remember why); also enjoys building and tinkering around with contraptions he comes across - considering the way he is dressed, perhaps a past apprentice...?

Despite his bright and outgoing nature, Kohl will do almost anything to avoid a road of conflict even if it means being dishonest. Naturally a people-pleaser, he is rather insecure about upsetting others or allowing people to become upset around him; he will do whatever he can to appease them or ease the situation in general - or simply shy away.

Powered by the gem suspended at the tail end, his spanner exudes a bright glow and lightens in weight to allow for up to six blunt successive blows. If half the blows land, there is a 20% chance of stun; if all land it rises to 30%.

Special Attack: lumilis grand

Charging the jewelled end of the spanner, it can be released into a laser beam that fires like a gun. Although it has a high critical hit ratio, it drains him of energy much more quickly than his physical attacks and will leave him fatigued before long.
