> first shield - a magical shield that can be created for up to 2 seconds at a time. Materialize like a thin screen-like barrier -- can withstand physical attacks more efficiently than magically based ones (at the moment will deflect basic handheld weapons and weak spells. The shield loses strength after approximately 2 seconds, and may (will almost certainly) shatter after this timeframe.

To shield more than one person at a time requires twice the energy lasting half the time, and she drains fast when re-materializing the shield continuously within a short period of time.

> tin light - produces a flash of white light that can briefly stun or blind, and is dependent on a metal medium. A watch, ring, jewellery or trinket will do but if using her sword, it is more effective. Likewise if she has nothing metal on hand, she cannot use it. It produces a resounding, metallic noise and is currently impossible without creating undue racket

The brighter the flash, the louder the noise. Effectively she can use the spell for both light and noise, but not separately.

At a glance Riesz looks like a composed and studious person, somewhat aloof. With a disciplined gait, straight back and unwavering gaze, one might think she's hard to approach -- but she seldom turns people away, and when interacting with someone will consciously attempt to "be normal" (as she was, once). Her presence isn't overbearing, or shy. She is aware that her re-animation has dulled her "personality" as she attempts to relearn emotions, thoughts and behaviours -- occasionally surprised that sometimes even if the mind forgets, the body remembers. She is more human when she isn't trying but since she's always trying, she usually comes across as unnatural.

Task-oriented, she has a solid work ethic. A little too focused, she's seldom idle and may seem "too busy" when caught in the middle of a task. For all she lacks, she's particularly uncomfortable when put in difficult social situations, and may overthink or interpret situations poorly. Frankly, she can afford to loosen up.

Her tone of voice is generally neutral and straightforward, though her choice in words can be a bit unnatural.

Riesz's personality is a shade of what it might have been, she'll never know for sure. Still very morally driven even after her death, she'll be on the side of justice...!

Riesz grew up boarding at a military academy, in a world riding close to war. The daughter of a ranked lieutenant general, she heard his voice over the phone more than she ever saw his face - he was often away searching for her mother, who passed away when she was young. A victim from a sunken cruise liner, he spent years searching the seas for her remains. As a result Riesz was raised by her tutors and classmates, becoming both somewhat institutionalized yet independent.

As a young soldier serving in an outstretched military base, her life ended in a routine excursion. An ambush awaiting them made short work of the group; there were no survivors.

3 days after her death, she woke. Alive again, her father welcomed her back. As a prominent military figure, he explained that he had access to research facilities -- studying magic, spells that would re-bind souls to their physical forms. Originally funded to reanimate corpses for expendable labour, her father became invested in resurrection with the hopes of reviving his wife. Riesz's death was sudden, unexpected -- but he was prepared.

Or so he thought -- the revived Riesz didn't seem complete. Her father was thrilled at his success but later horrified, for the purposes of reanimating a brainwashed slave it was perfect --  but the daughter he'd revived no longer recognised him, or anything for that matter. After a month spent desperately re-educating, guiding, and trying to find her lost memories, he decided that her rehabilitation (or her missing memory, rather) might find its way back magically. Sending her to Luna Arcana, he hoped the magical environment would somehow restore what had gone amiss in the spell process (though Riesz herself isn't so certain
